The following are four items to never take for granted when working with SharePoint:

1) Never assume – anything about the SharePoint project being worked on, almost always think the opposite

2) Never believe the SharePoint project manager – knows what is going on – make sure one sets milestones, tasks, stakeholders, scope requirements and all minor details with a project manager.

3) Never believe that management is up to speed with the details in regard to how the SharePoint technology being used in a said project works.

4) Never let business people make key technical SharePoint decisions

SharePoint Project Milestones

The following are core and key aspects to utilize for SharePoint project milestones:

1) List and identify the project milestones for the SharePoint project.

2) List and identify the initiation or completion of the kickoff meeting completed, application structure & integration system reviews completed, tool recommendations received, decision to proceed to testing, etc. as it relates to the SharePoint project.

3) List out the decision made or received for each milestone of the SharePoint project.
